Cheap Airfares for Traveling and for Holidays
Getting cheap flights is easier than you think. Keep searching diligently rather than accepting the first fare that you see. You’ll likely be able to find a ticket that is hundreds of dollars less than the first advertised price.
Cheap flights are easiest to obtain if you’re flexible about your schedule. If you’re open about your destination, you can grab last-minute deals to some of the most popular travel spots, such as Las Vegas, Miami, Cincinnati, San Francisco and more. Often these plane tickets are less than $100. Keep your eyes open.
You can still get a cheap flight if you have a specific destination in mind. Check with an online booking system and play with different combinations of airports and departure dates. Flying on the weekend is always more expensive, as well as traveling during the holidays. When you make your flight arrangements for Christmas or Thanksgiving, leave a little earlier, and when you’re coming home, leave a day or two later. The prices will be significantly different.
Try booking your holiday as a package. Many travel websites offer the benefit of booking flights, hotel stays, car rentals and even cruise ship travel as a package. You can save hundreds of dollars by doing this, and the options available are usually very selective. The more money you save, the more you’ll be able to spend on your vacation. You’ll also be able to travel more often if you’re spending less money.
Keep in mind that ticket prices are per person and do not include the price of checking your luggage. Food in airport cafes is more expensive as well, so consider bringing a light snack with you instead. Avoid the temptation of drinking alcohol on your flight. Not only will the price be spiked, but the alcohol in the thinner atmosphere can make you sick.
