50th wedding anniversary turns deadly in upscale Las Vegas hotel

A 72-year-old man and his 69-year-old wife were found in an unusual position in their hotel room yesterday morning. When the room attendant of an upscale Las Vegas hotel knocked on the door at 9 a.m., she heard a faint call for help. The long-time staff member had come across several unexpected situations during her employment, but never anything like this. She immediately called the manager.
M. and A. Delaney, a Minnesota couple nearing their 50th wedding anniversary, decided to celebrate in style. They booked a trip to Las Vegas. Following the travel agent’s recommendations, they toured the city, enjoyed a great meal and had a few drinks.
Mr. Delaney had been determined to end the evening with a bang. A romantic at heart, he wanted to surprise his wife with a night of passion and recreate their wedding night. Without his her knowledge, he took a sex enhancing pill. He had obtained the drug from a close friend, who had an erectile dysfunction.
When the manager and security personnel entered the room, they found Mrs. Delaney naked and utterly exhausted. She was tied to the bed with lanyards, which the couple had bought earlier that day at the hotel’s gift shop. Her naked husband, weighing approximately 240 pounds, was laying stretched out on top of her. He was dead.
According to the medical examiner Mr. Delaney died of a heart attack, which had occurred two hours prior to being found. The drug and erotic adventure were just too much for this poor senior’s heart. Mrs. Delany was treated for minor injuries on her wrists. She will be allowed to transport her husband’s remains back to Minnesota shortly.
